ABOUT
Woyane is an intimate and harrowing glimpse into this decade's greatest humanitarian crisis and one of the deadliest conflicts of the 21st century, the hidden genocide of Tigray, Ethiopia.
This 33-minute expository film follows a coalition of journalists who will stop at nothing to report the atrocities that have been inflicted upon their land and people, even if it means facing imprisonment or execution. With a powerful combination of first-hand testimonials and on-the-ground warzone footage,
Woyane uncovers the brutal reality of the Tigray genocide and brings to light the lived experiences of millions of civilians who have been caught in the crossfires and, in many cases, systematically targeted.

ABOUT
Unfolding against the backdrop of war-torn Ukraine and the aftermath of conflict in Tigray, Ethiopia, Besela (The Scar) delves into the human stories emerging from war. It explores the enduring consequences on both survivors and the frontline workers who seek to help them. In a media landscape saturated with conflict, Besela confronts the normalization of violence by intimately portraying the lives of those most affected.
Production for this film will continue in Tigray, Ethiopia, in 2025. Besela will present a multifaceted portrayal of war by following the experiences of a UN frontline worker, a child soldier, a nurse, a bishop, and a politician. Through their unique yet interconnected narratives, Besela aims to explore the aftermath of conflict, posing the question: what remains when the guns fall silent and the world's attention shifts elsewhere?
If you knew today was the last day of your life, could you be ok with that?
